ABOUT PROFESSOR ADEBAYO OSIPITAN
DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR TAIWO OSIPITAN, SAN, FCArb holds an LLB (Hons) Degree from the University of Lagos. He attended the Nigerian Law School in 1981, where he distinguished himself by winning the Justice Somolu Memorial Prize for the best Student in Civil Procedure. He subsequently attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where he specialised in Marine and General Insurance, Carriage of Goods by Sea, Secured Credit Transaction, Taxation Law and Civil Litigation. He holds the LL.M Degree of the University of London. He joined the Faculty of Law University of Lagos in January 1983 as a Lecturer II and progressively rose to the position of Professor of Public Law University of Lagos, Akoka in October 1998. He was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2002 by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee. Prof Taiwo Osipitan, SAN who specialises in Commercial and Public Law has Litigation as his chief area of interest. He was recently conferred (2018) with the Title of Distinguished Professor of Law by the University of Lagos. This is in recognition of his service to the University of Lagos post his appointment as a Professor of Law.
